Juicy Oven Burgers

Just like the name says, these are juicy burgers! The burgers are pan fried and then the buns are smothered with homemade burger sauce, sliced american cheese, sliced Swiss cheese and chopped onions. Then the burger is wrapped in tin foil and baked for about 15 minutes. The bun gets nice and warm and toasted and the cheese gets nice and gooey! Instead of onions you can saute mushrooms and make a mushroom burger. Pan frying the burgers give them a nice caramelized crust. These burgers would be great in the winter when you don't want to BBQ out in the cold.

Burgers:
8 wheat or sesame hamburger buns
2 lb ground sirloin or lean ground beef
1  Tbsp montreal steak seasoning blend
2-3 garlic cloves, minced

SAUCE
1/2 c mayonnaise
1 Tbsp Ketchup
1 Tbsp yellow mustard
6-7 slice dill pickle, finely diced
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1-2 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

american & Swiss cheese slices
I onion chopped

Directions:

Combine ground beef and montreal steak seasoning in large bowl, fold lightly. Do not overwork meat. Form into 8 burgers. Indenting the centre of each burger so the burgers cook flat and not into balls.
Fry burgers on stovetop until just cooked.
While burgers are cooking combine all the sauce ingredients into a small bowl.
Add sauce to top and bottom of burger buns, add a slice of american cheese on one side of bun and a slice of swiss cheese on the other side then place  the cooked burger on bun and top with a chopped onions.
Wrap each burger in foil and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Just to melt cheese & cook onion slightly.
Another idea is to saute sliced mushrooms and make mushroom burgers. Yum!

would be great in the middle of winter when you are craving a burger but don't want to go outside and BBQ.
